Extracts eARC audio to optical, coaxial, 3.5 mm and HDMI outputs while passing 4K 60 Hz HDR video
The Torpedo Nova extracts high-bitrate audio from an HDMI eARC or ARC connection and provides four independent outputs: optical SPDIF, coaxial digital, 3.5 mm analog and a dedicated HDMI audio-only port. It is built for owners of smart TVs, game consoles or streaming boxes who need lossless 7.1-channel Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X or DTS-HD MA passed to an older amplifier, soundbar or headset. The unit handles HDCP 2.2 protected content without stripping video metadata.
An all-aluminium alloy housing dissipates heat passively, so the extractor runs silently without a fan. The included external power adapter supplies the device, keeping the HDMI 2.0b 18 Gbps video path stable at 4K 60 Hz with HDR10 and Dolby Vision during long playback sessions. No active cooling means zero added noise in a living-room or bedroom setup.
A three-position audio-mode toggle (2.0, 5.1, 7.1) and built-in EDID management let the extractor handshake cleanly with amplifiers, soundbars or headsets without manual firmware updates. The four output ports free you from choosing a single connection type — feed a legacy AV receiver over optical or coaxial, a powered speaker over 3.5 mm and a second zone over HDMI audio simultaneously. Buyers who need more than four discrete audio paths or who require HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for 8K video will need a different solution.

Connect the source to the HDMI input, the display to the HDMI output, then link your sound system to the optical, coaxial, 3.5 mm or dedicated HDMI audio port; the step users miss is setting the EDID and audio-mode switch to match their amplifier before powering on.
The aluminium housing passively dissipates heat with no moving parts, so no routine maintenance is required; only the external power adapter may need replacement if it fails after extended use.
The HDMI 2.0b 18 Gbps bandwidth ceiling is the first hard limit; it caps video to 4K at 60 Hz with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, so higher refresh rates or 8K signals cannot pass through.
