USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable 10 m

This active USB 2.0 extension cable reaches 10 metres and carries a Type A male connector on one end and a Type A female port on the other. It lets you place printers, VR headsets, keyboards, game controllers or security cameras far from the host computer without signal loss. The built-in repeater regenerates the data stream so the link stays reliable over the full length. No driver installation is required on Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Chrome OS.

Build and everyday connectivity

The cable uses an integrated active repeater to maintain USB 2.0 performance across 10 metres, removing the distance limit of passive copper leads. Connectors are standard Type A, so any existing USB 2.0 peripheral plugs in directly without adapters. The design is intended for stationary setups such as office printers, room-scale VR sensors or ceiling-mounted cameras where the host cannot be relocated. Flexible jacket material allows routing along skirting boards or through cable trays.

Upgrade from passive cables and when to choose this

This cable replaces passive USB 2.0 extensions that become unreliable beyond 5 metres. The jump is worth it when the device must sit 10 metres from the PC and you cannot move the computer or add a powered hub. It is not suited for USB 3.0 or higher bandwidth devices, nor for buyers who need more than a single Type A connection at the far end.

Questions about this item

How far does the USB 2.0 active repeater extend the signal?

The cable extends a USB 2.0 connection up to 10 metres (30 feet) without signal loss for printers, headsets, cameras and other peripherals.

What physical space is needed to route the 10 metre cable?

The Type A male and female connectors are standard size; the active repeater housing sits inline, so allow enough slack for the module and the full 10 metre run.

Does the active extension need any driver or power adapter to work?

No driver is required on Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Chrome OS; the repeater draws power from the host USB port, so just plug it in and connect your device.
