What this cable delivers

This USB4 Gen 3x2 cable carries up to 40 Gbps of data and up to 240 W of power between two USB-C ports. It supports PD 3.1, PD 3.0 PPS, PD 2.0, QC 4.0, QC 3.0, AFC, SCP and FCP protocols. The 1.5 ft length suits desk setups where a short reach keeps the workspace tidy.

Practical limits of USB4 Gen 3x2

Full 40 Gbps speed and 240 W charging require a host, charger and device that all implement USB4 Gen 3x2 with Extended Power Range. With older USB-C ports the cable falls back to the lower speeds and wattages those ports allow. Video output at 8K 60 Hz also depends on the source and display supporting that mode over USB-C Alt Mode.

The spec that decides fit

If your charger and laptop both support 240 W EPR PD 3.1 this cable will deliver the full 140 W or 240 W load. If either end tops out at 100 W or 140 W the cable simply works at that lower level without any configuration.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.5FT or 3.3FT cable for my setup?

The 1.5FT length is best for desktop charging or short device links; the 3.3FT version gives more reach for wall outlets or docking stations.

Will the 40Gbps rating actually move my 8K 60Hz video without lag?

Yes, 40Gbps bi-directional bandwidth carries 8K 60Hz DisplayPort Alt Mode signals when both host and display support it.

Does USB4 Gen 3x2 cap charging at 100W like older cables?

No, this cable supports Extended Power Range up to 240W at 48V with PD 3.1, so it handles 140W MacBook Pro charging and 240W devices.
