What this cable does
This 1.5 ft USB4 cable carries up to 40 Gbps of data and up to 240 W of power between two USB-C ports. It supports PD 3.1 extended power range and is backwards compatible with 180 W, 140 W, 100 W and lower profiles. The connectors are male-to-male, bi-directional and reversible.
Build and daily use
A nylon-braided jacket protects the conductors during frequent plugging and unplugging. The short length keeps a desk tidy when charging a laptop or tablet from a nearby brick. Both ends fit any USB-C port without worrying about orientation.
Interface limits
Full 40 Gbps throughput and 240 W delivery require a host, charger and device that all implement USB4 Gen 3x2 and PD 3.1 EPR. Older ports fall back to their own maximum speeds and power levels. Video output tops out at 8K 60 Hz when every link in the chain supports it.

Questions about this item
What data rate does the USB4 Gen 3x2 interface actually deliver?
The cable supports up to 40 Gbps bi-directional when both host and device use USB4 Gen 3x2.
What physical clearance does the 1.5 ft braided cable need?
At 1.5 ft long with nylon braiding, it fits tight desk runs and portable kits without excess slack.
How do I get the full 240 W charge instead of a lower rate?
Use a PD 3.1 EPR charger rated for 240 W and a device that negotiates 48 V / 5 A; otherwise it falls back to 140 W, 100 W or lower.
