What this cable is and who it is for

This USB4 cable carries 40Gbps data and delivers up to 240W of power over a 1.5ft USB-C to USB-C link. It suits owners of Thunderbolt 3 or 4 laptops, tablets and docks who need maximum throughput and fast charging in a short, nylon-braided lead.

What to check on your existing setup

Your host port must support USB4 or Thunderbolt 3 or 4 to reach the stated 40Gbps rate. For video output the port also needs DisplayPort Alternate Mode. The cable falls back to USB 3.2, 3.1 or 2.0 speeds on older ports, but will not exceed their native limits.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Ideal for users who want a single short cable that handles 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@60Hz displays plus 240W charging. Not suited to buyers who need a longer reach, or to setups where the host lacks DisplayPort Alt Mode for video.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.5 ft USB4 cable come with any adapters or do I need to buy them separately?

Should I choose this 40 Gbps USB4 cable over a slower USB 3.2 or 3.1 cable for my Thunderbolt 4 laptop?

Yes, this cable delivers 40 Gbps bandwidth and 240 W charging, matching Thunderbolt 4 performance, while older USB 3.2 and 3.1 cables max out at lower speeds and power.

Will the 40 Gbps rating actually let me run an 8K 60 Hz monitor from my MacBook Pro through this cable?

The cable supports one 8K 60 Hz or dual 4K 60 Hz displays provided the host USB C port implements DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
