Cat8 S/FTP patch cord for 40 Gbps networks

This 15 ft black cable uses 26 AWG shielded twisted pair construction to deliver up to 40 Gbps data rates and 2000 MHz bandwidth. It is aimed at installers and power users who need reliable high-speed links between switches, routers, servers, IP cameras or game consoles. The fully shielded design protects signal integrity in electrically noisy environments.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, produces no audible noise and draws no power of its own. The quad-shielded S/FTP structure suppresses EMI and RFI without active components. Performance remains stable across the full 15 ft run whether the cord is routed indoors, outdoors or buried directly.

Direct burial PVC jacket and backward compatibility

The upgraded PVC sheath is waterproof, anti-corrosion and flexible enough for heavy-duty outdoor or direct-burial installation. Shielded RJ45 connectors at both ends maintain full Cat8 performance while remaining compatible with Cat7, Cat6a, Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 equipment. No software or drivers are required.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 15 ft Cat8 S/FTP patch cord and what step is often missed?

Push both shielded RJ45 connectors firmly until they click into the ports on your router, switch, IP camera or other device; the step people miss is verifying the latch is fully seated on each end.

What maintenance or replacement will this cable need over time?

No routine maintenance is required; inspect the PVC jacket and RJ45 latches periodically and replace the cord only if physical damage or corrosion appears.

What limit appears first during sustained 40 Gbps use?

The 2000 MHz bandwidth ceiling of the 26 AWG S/FTP construction is the first limit reached under continuous maximum throughput.
