A 3.84 TB U.2 15 mm PCIe 5.0 enterprise SSD delivering up to 14 500 MB/s sequential read, 8 200 MB/s write, 3 100 000 random read IOPS and 315 000 random write IOPS with 1 DWPD endurance
Model 3.84TB U.2 Opal
The Solidigm D7-PS1010 is a 3.84TB enterprise SSD built on 176L TLC 3D NAND with a PCI-Express 5.0 x4 interface. It delivers up to 14500 MBps sequential read and 8200 MBps sequential write speeds. Random performance reaches 3100000 IOPS read and 315000 IOPS write. Rated at 1 DWPD and 7 PBW endurance with a 2,500,000-hour MTBF, it targets data centre workloads requiring sustained throughput and Opal security.
Moving from a PCIe 4.0 U.2 device doubles the interface bandwidth, raising sequential read headroom toward 14500 MBps and write toward 8200 MBps. The jump is worth it when queue depths are high and latency-sensitive services hit the current bus ceiling. If your workloads are sequential-light or capacity-bound without throughput pressure, the existing drive may suffice until the next refresh cycle.
Confirm the server or array accepts a 15mm U.2 form factor and that the backplane or cabling is rated for PCI-Express 5.0 signalling. Check that the platform can supply up to 19W active power and operates within the 0°C to 77°C range. Ensure the firmware stack supports Opal encryption if security policies require it.

Other versions of this model
Yes, the U.2 15mm form factor is designed for standard 2.5-inch U.2 bays that accept 15mm drives. Verify your chassis supports 15mm height before installation.
Install it in a PCIe 5.0 x4 slot or U.2 backplane wired for PCIe 5.0. A common mistake is using a PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 slot, which limits the drive to the slower generation speed.
The drive is rated for 1 DWPD, allowing 3.84TB of writes per day over five years (7 PBW total). Monitor SMART wear indicators and plan replacement when remaining endurance approaches zero.
