SonicWall NSa 3800 firewall appliance 03-SSC-4671

Firewall appliance for mid-size networks

The SonicWall NSa 3800 is a dedicated firewall appliance built for mid-size organisations that need consolidated threat protection. It bundles a three-year Advanced Protection Services Suite with cloud-based reporting and a one-year CSE subscription. The unit delivers multi-gigabit threat and malware analysis throughput.

Upgrade from basic UTM or single-function boxes

This appliance replaces simpler unified threat management devices or single-purpose firewalls that cannot sustain high TLS session counts. The jump is worth it when encrypted traffic volume grows and deep packet inspection becomes a daily requirement. Superior TLS performance keeps inspection latency low without dropping legitimate connections.

Rack-mount setup with Wi-Fi 6 management

Installation follows standard rack-mount procedures and the device can be managed through a Wi-Fi 6 interface for initial configuration. Common issues include licensing activation delays if the registration portal is unreachable and rule-set migration errors when importing policies from older firmware.
