Dual-Port 10GbE Adapter

The Sonnet Presto G10E-2X-E3 is a low-profile PCIe 3.0 x4 card that adds two RJ45 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports to a Mac Pro tower, Windows PC or Linux server. It targets creative professionals and IT administrators who need ten-times-Gigabit wired throughput over existing copper cabling.

Check PCIe Slot and Cable Grade

Verify your system has a free PCIe 3.0 x4 slot and that the operating environment supports the required driver installation. The card links at 10 Gb/s over CAT-6 cable up to 55 metres or CAT-6A cable up to 100 metres, so confirm your installed cabling meets the distance you need.

Thunderbolt Expansion Ready

The adapter is optimised for use inside Sonnet Echo Express and xMac Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis, letting laptops and compact workstations gain dual 10GbE ports without opening the host computer. This bundling path removes the need for a full-size tower while keeping the same copper connectivity.

Questions about this item

Does the Sonnet Presto 10GbE card include cables or brackets in the box, or must they be purchased separately?

The card itself is supplied; CAT-6 or CAT-6A cables and any Thunderbolt expansion chassis are sold separately.

Should I choose a single-port or dual-port 10GbE card for link aggregation?

This model provides two RJ45 ports, enabling link aggregation or separate 10 Gb/s connections from one PCIe 3.0 x4 slot.

Will the advertised 10 Gb/s speed be reached on a CAT-6 cable run of 55 metres?

Yes, CAT-6 supports the full 10 Gb/s rate up to 55 metres; CAT-6A extends that to 100 metres.
