The Sophos XGS 88w is a fanless desktop appliance combining wired and wireless connectivity. Four 2.5 GBase-T ports plus a management port provide LAN and WAN links while the integrated 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 radio serves wireless clients. An Intel x86 CPU with 4 GB LPDDR5 and 16 GB eMMC storage runs the full Sophos security stack for small offices or branch sites.

Sustained throughput under inspection

Firewall IMIX runs at 6,500 Mbps while IPS, NGFW and Threat Protection each hold at 2,000 Mbps. TLS 1.3 inspection sustains 600 Mbps, so encrypted traffic analysis remains consistent during extended sessions. IPsec VPN throughput reaches 6,000 Mbps for site-to-site tunnels. FastPath offloads trusted flows to keep latency low when the box is fully loaded.

Silent operation with low power draw
