Speck iPad mini 7/6 8.3" Rugged Case

The Speck case fits iPad mini 7 (A17 Pro) 2024 and iPad mini 6 8.3" 2021 models A2996, A2995, A2993, A2569, A2568, A2567. It combines a shock-absorbing hybrid shell with a built-in screen protector, a 360° rotating hand strap and a multi-angle kickstand. A pencil holder secures an Apple Pencil Pro or second-generation Apple Pencil depending on the tablet generation.

Upgrade from Basic Sleeves and Folios

This case replaces thin sleeves or simple folio covers that lack drop protection and hands-free viewing. The jump is worth it when you need military-grade shock absorption, a secure rotating grip for one-handed use, and a stand that locks at 30°, 45° or 60° for typing or video. The integrated screen protector removes the need for a separate tempered-glass purchase.

Limits of the All-in-One Design

The fixed hybrid construction adds bulk and weight compared to minimalist skins, measuring 4.0894 x 20.2946 x 26.4922 cm and weighing 0.372 kg. The built-in screen protector cannot be swapped for a matte or privacy filter without removing the entire case. The pencil holder fits only the Apple Pencil generations supported by each specific iPad model and does not accommodate third-party styli.

Questions about this item

Will the 360-degree rotating kickstand and hand strap add bulk that prevents the iPad mini from fitting into a sleeve?

The case measures 4.0894 by 20.2946 by 26.4922 centimetres and weighs .372 kilograms, so check your sleeve’s internal dimensions against those figures.

Which step do buyers most often miss when fitting the two-piece front cover with the built-in screen protector?

Remove the protective film from the built-in screen protector before snapping the front cover onto the frame, otherwise air bubbles stay trapped.

After months of rotating the kickstand through 30, 45 and 60-degree angles, which part is most likely to need replacement?

The kickstand hinge and the adjustable hand strap take the most repeated stress; the manufacturer offers a six-month replacement service for defects.
