The SPECO TECHNOLOGIES SP30PT is a pendant speaker designed for surveillance installations that require overhead audio coverage. Its white ABS plastic enclosure blends with ceiling environments in retail, office or institutional settings.

Suspended mounting with transformer wiring

Installation involves hanging the unit from a structural ceiling point and connecting the speaker leads to the 8 ohm line. The 16 lb weight requires secure anchors and the transformer settings must be selected before the final connection is made.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the SP30PT pendant speaker is performing correctly after installation?

Play audio through the speaker and listen for clear output across the 43Hz to 20,000Hz range; the 92 dB sensitivity and 8-ohm impedance should deliver consistent volume without distortion at the 30 W RMS rating.

What does the SP30PT package contain and what additional items are required?

The box includes the pendant speaker with ABS plastic enclosure, 1/2-inch Mylar tweeter, 5-inch polypropylene woofer, and mounting hardware; you must supply speaker wire and a compatible amplifier separately.

Which power rating should I match when choosing an amplifier for the SP30PT?

Select an amplifier rated for 30 W RMS at 8 ohms to match the speaker's continuous power handling; the 10 W maximum wattage figure refers to a different operating condition.
