SQUARE ENIX USA Forspoken ps5 video game

The Odyssey of a Reluctant Hero

Forspoken is an action RPG for PlayStation 5 that follows Frey Holland, a young New Yorker mysteriously transported to the fantastical land of Athia. Players guide her search for a way home while battling monstrous creatures and powerful matriarchs known as Tantas. The game carries an ESRB Mature rating for its fantasy violence and thematic elements. It targets players who enjoy narrative-driven exploration and magical combat systems.

A Beautiful and Cruel Open-World

The sprawling realms of Athia offer remarkable vistas and corrupted territories where a mysterious darkness defiles everything it touches. Exploration is driven by intuitive, magic-enhanced parkour that lets Frey scale walls, vault across canyons, and dash through vast landscapes with fluid traversal. A customizable arsenal of spells provides a wide range of powerful abilities catering to fast-paced or strategic playstyles. The experience runs out for players seeking multiplayer modes or deep simulation mechanics absent from this single-player journey.

Designed for PlayStation 5 Hardware

Forspoken has been built to harness the full power of the PlayStation 5, demonstrating Luminous Productions' philosophy of fusing the latest technology with creativity. The score blends contemporary electronic beats with a fantasy tone, composed by BAFTA award-winning composers Bear McCreary and Garry Schyman. It requires a PlayStation 5 console and does not support PlayStation 4 or other platforms. Buyers who want physical media for other consoles or cross-platform saves cannot use this version.
