12U Open Frame Rack with Two Shelves

This 12U open frame rack is built from cold rolled steel and includes two ventilated 1U cantilever shelves with anti-slip stops. It accepts 19-inch networking, audio and video equipment for home, office, classroom or warehouse installations. The unit ships with mounting hardware, velcro straps, a drilling template and an assembly video. It suits installers who need a compact, accessible frame for a limited device count.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Wall mounted the frame supports 130 pounds and floor mounted it supports 260 pounds. The steel construction and shelf stops keep equipment stable during continuous operation. The open design allows unrestricted airflow around devices so internal temperatures remain steady over long periods. Installers who require higher density or redundant mounting points will need a larger enclosure.

Thermals Noise and Power

The rack itself has no fans or power draw and adds no acoustic noise to the environment. Passive ventilation through the open frame and vented shelves lets equipment cool naturally. The black steel finish resists corrosion in typical indoor conditions. Buyers who need active cooling integration or sound dampening should consider a enclosed cabinet instead.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does this 12U open frame rack generate during continuous use?

The rack is a passive steel frame with no fans or power supply, so it produces zero operational noise and adds no heat beyond the equipment you install inside it.

What mounting hardware must I already have to install this 20.15 by 20.47 inch frame on a wall?

The package includes a drilling template and mounting screws for the rack itself, but you must supply wall anchors or lag bolts rated for at least 130 lb that suit your specific wall material.

Will my existing 19-inch wide servers and shelves sit securely on the included 1U cantilever shelves?

Yes, the two ventilated shelves are built for standard 19-inch equipment and include four anti-slip stops and Velcro straps to hold devices firmly in place.
