80 ft Active HDMI Cable

The StarTech.com HDMIMM80AC is an 80 ft active High Speed HDMI cable designed to link HDMI-equipped source devices to displays over long distances without signal loss. It supports Ultra HD 4k x 2k and 1080p resolutions, making it suitable for home-theatre, gaming and professional AV installations.

Before Installing

Verify that both your source and display have standard HDMI ports and that the 80 ft (24.39 m) route can accommodate a 24 AWG PVC-jacketed cable with a CMG fire rating. The active design requires no external power, but ensure the connectors' gold-plated male ends have enough clearance behind your equipment.

Gold-Plated Connectors and Ethernet Support

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion for reliable long-term conductivity, while the aluminium-Mylar foil with braid shielding protects against interference. The cable also carries an HDMI Ethernet Channel, allowing compatible devices to share a network connection without a separate Ethernet cable.

Questions about this item

Does the 80 ft active HDMI cable arrive ready to use or do I need to buy extra connectors?

The cable has two male HDMI connectors pre-attached so it plugs straight into source and display with nothing else to buy.

Should I choose this 80 ft version or a shorter length for a 4K 1080p setup?

This 80 ft model supports Ultra HD 4K x 2K and 1080p over the full distance; pick a shorter cable only if your run is less than 80 ft.

What does the 80 ft rating mean when the cable is running through a real AV rack?

The active design delivers a stable 4K or 1080p signal across the full 80 ft (24.39 m) without signal loss, even in a typical rack installation.
