Compact Cable for Dense Racks

The 9-inch StarTech Cat6 patch cord uses a 28 AWG slim profile that is 36 percent thinner than standard cables. It fits tight spaces in server racks and network cabinets while supporting 10 Gbps data rates and 100 W Power over Ethernet. Low-smoke zero-halogen jacket material meets strict building safety requirements.

Installers Needing High-Density Patching

Technicians who manage crowded patch panels benefit from the snagless RJ45 connectors and reduced cable bulk that improves airflow. Buyers who require longer runs for wall-to-wall or cross-room connections should select a standard-length cable instead.

Nine-Inch Length Defines the Application

At only 9 inches this cord is purpose-built for adjacent-port links inside a single rack enclosure. It cannot span between separate cabinets or reach floor-mounted switches, so verify the exact distance before ordering.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the cable is delivering 10Gbps after installation?

Link the cable between two 10Gbps-capable ports and check the negotiated speed in the OS network adapter settings or switch port status.

What comes in the box and do I need any extra parts?

The package contains the 9in slim Cat6 patch cord with snagless RJ45 plugs; no additional components are required for a standard connection.

When should I choose the 9in length versus a longer run?

Select the 9in version for short, high-density links inside racks or panels where the 36% slimmer profile improves airflow and cable management.
