25 ft Cat6 Green Patch Cable

This 25-foot Cat6 patch cable in green is built for Gigabit and Multi-Gigabit Ethernet connections. It suits home offices, small-business networks and anyone adding a single wired drop. The snagless moulded connectors and strain relief protect the plug during frequent moves. It is not for installers who need bulk reel cable or pre-terminated trunk runs.

Cat6 250 MHz Bandwidth Limit

The cable is rated to 250 MHz and supports 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps speeds up to 160 ft. At the full 100-metre channel limit the 10 Gbps rate is not guaranteed by the Cat6 standard. Shielding is not present, so noisy industrial environments may require a different cable type. The PVC jacket is not rated for plenum or outdoor burial use.

24 AWG Copper Handles 100 W PoE

The 24 AWG stranded 100 % copper conductors carry up to 100 W of Power over Ethernet for access points, cameras or VoIP phones. The 25 ft length leaves ample headroom for desktop or ceiling-mounted devices. Runs longer than 160 ft will lose the 10 Gbps capability and eventually drop to 1 Gbps. It cannot replace fibre for building-to-building links.

Questions about this item

Which length should I choose for a typical desk-to-switch run?

The 25 ft length covers most desk-to-switch distances without excess slack; select a shorter or longer patch cord only if your measured route demands it.

What real-world throughput can I expect from the 250 MHz Cat 6 rating?

The cable supports multi-gigabit speeds of 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps up to 160 ft, so the 25 ft run will deliver full rated throughput.

How does the 24 AWG stranded copper construction affect PoE capability?

The 24 AWG 100% copper conductors are rated for 100 W PoE, allowing high-power devices to operate over the full 25 ft length.
