StarTech OS2 Simplex Fibre Cable

This StarTech SPSMLCSCOS21M cable provides a 1 metre single mode simplex link with LC to SC UPC connectors. The 9/125 µm fibre is rated for 40G and 100G transmission and uses LSZH jacketing for low smoke emissions.

Suitable For Single Mode UPC Links

Installers needing a short OS2 simplex jumper with UPC polish will find this cable matches the requirement. Buyers who need duplex connectivity or multimode fibre should select a different product.

9/125 µm OS2 Core Specification

The 9/125 µm single mode core diameter determines compatibility with OS2 infrastructure and 40G or 100G equipment. Verify that your transceivers and patch panels are specified for OS2 single mode before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1m or 3.3ft length for my rack run?

Both figures describe the same cable — 1 metre equals 3.3 feet — so select the unit that matches your documentation.

What does the 40G/100G rating mean when the cable is installed?

The cable supports 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s Ethernet over OS2 single-mode fibre with 9/125 µm core/cladding.

How do the LC and SC UPC connectors limit what I can plug into?

One end terminates in an LC UPC connector, the other in an SC UPC connector, so each side must match the corresponding port type.
