Compact 60% Wireless Gaming Keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless is a compact 60% mechanical gaming keyboard designed for players who want adjustable actuation in a small footprint. It uses OmniPoint 2.0 linear switches that let you set the actuation point per key from 0.2 mm to 3.8 mm. Connectivity options include USB-C wired, 2.4 GHz wireless via the included dongle, and Bluetooth 5.0 for multiple devices. The keyboard ships with PBT double-shot keycaps, a keycap puller, a USB-C to USB-A cable, a wireless dongle, and a wireless extension adapter.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

As a keyboard, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless produces no measurable heat and runs silently apart from the sound of key presses. Power comes from the internal rechargeable battery, which delivers up to 30 hours of use on the 2.4 GHz connection and up to 40 hours on Bluetooth with default lighting enabled. Charging and wired operation are handled through the USB-C port using the supplied cable. No external power supply or cooling is required.

Adjustable Actuation 0.2 to 3.8 mm

The defining specification is the per-key adjustable actuation range of 0.2 mm to 3.8 mm, configurable in 0.1 mm steps through SteelSeries Engine software on Windows 8.1 or newer and macOS 10.13 or newer. This lets each key serve two distinct actions at different press depths, such as a light tap for walking and a deeper press for sprinting. Buyers who need dedicated macro keys, a numpad, or function row should look elsewhere, as the 60% layout relies on side-printed secondary functions.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the keyboard in 2.4 GHz wireless mode, and what step is often missed?

Insert the USB‑C wireless dongle into a USB port; use the included USB‑C extension adapter if the port is recessed or crowded, then switch the keyboard to 2.4 GHz mode.

Which parts of the Apex Pro Mini Wireless 64842 will need replacement first?

The double‑shot PBT keycaps resist shine far longer than ABS, and the OmniPoint 2.0 switches are built for extended use; no user‑serviceable parts are expected to wear out under normal gaming.

What limits battery life during long wireless sessions?

The internal battery delivers up to 30 hours on 2.4 GHz and 40 hours on Bluetooth 5.0 with default lighting; brighter per‑key RGB reduces those figures.
