What the TKL keyboard delivers

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is a tenkeyless gaming keyboard built around OmniPoint 3.0 Hall Effect switches. It connects via USB 2.0 and includes a detachable palm rest for optional wrist support. PBT keycaps and per-key RGB backlighting complete the feature set for competitive players who want a compact layout without sacrificing customisation.

Actuation range and response headroom

Adjustable actuation spans 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm across 40 discrete levels, letting you tune each key from feather-light to deep and deliberate. Rapid Trigger and Rapid Tap reduce latency by registering repeated presses the moment the switch crosses the actuation point again. Protection Mode dampens surrounding keys to prevent accidental inputs during intense movement.

OmniPoint 3.0 Hall Effect switches

The magnetic linear switches deliver 20x faster actuation and 11x quicker response than the previous design. An integrated OLED smart display surfaces settings and GG QuickSet game-ready presets without leaving the game. Five customisable key pairs for Rapid Tap let you prioritise the last pressed key for faster directional changes.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 2.0 connection work with my older motherboard that only has USB 2.0 ports?

Yes, the keyboard uses a USB 2.0 interface so it will function normally on any USB 2.0 port without needing a newer standard.

How can I confirm the OmniPoint 3.0 switches are set to the 0.1 mm actuation I selected?

The OLED smart display shows your active settings in real time so you can verify the actuation point and other adjustments without leaving the game.

Does the box include the detachable palm rest and PBT keycaps or are they sold separately?

The palm rest is detachable and included, and the keyboard ships with PBT keycaps already installed so nothing extra is required for basic use.
