Keyboard type and audience

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 64660 is a full-size gaming keyboard built around OmniPoint 3.0 Hall Effect switches. It targets competitive players who want adjustable actuation and rapid-trigger response in a standard layout with a detachable palm rest.

Who this suits and who it does not

Suits users who need per-key actuation control from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm and features such as Protection Mode and Rapid Tap for faster input. Not for buyers who prefer fixed mechanical switches, a compact form factor, or a keyboard without an OLED smart display.

Deciding specification

The OmniPoint 3.0 switches deliver 20x faster actuation and 11x quicker response than previous designs, with 40 levels of adjustable actuation over USB 2.0. This magnetic switch technology is the single factor that determines whether the keyboard matches your performance requirements.
