The Supermicro MBD-X11SAT-O is an ATX server motherboard built around the Intel C236 chipset and an LGA 1151 socket. It accepts Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 or 6th Gen Core i7, i5 and i3 processors with a TDP up to 95W. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support up to 64GB of ECC or non-ECC UDIMM at 2133, 1866 or 1600 MHz.

This board fits builders who need ECC memory, dual Intel Gigabit LAN and six SATA 6.0Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 in an ATX form factor. It is not for systems that require more than 64GB of RAM, more than two network ports or processors above 95W TDP. The single socket design also rules out multi-socket configurations.

Deciding spec: 64GB DDR4 ECC ceiling

The 64GB maximum across four DDR4 slots is the key limit. If the workload demands more memory capacity or registered DIMMs, this motherboard cannot meet the requirement. For applications that stay within 64GB of unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DDR4, the board provides the necessary slots, chipset and connectivity.
