Compatible Dell desktop power supply

This replacement unit fits Dell GX620, 360, 330, 745 and 755 systems requiring part numbers L280P-00 or H280P-01. It is a new component intended for owners restoring or maintaining those specific desktop models. Builders working with other Dell lines or proprietary form factors should verify compatibility before purchasing.

Thermals and power draw

The 280 watt rating matches the original specification for the listed Dell desktops. Under normal office workloads the unit runs within expected thermal limits for the chassis it was designed for. Acoustic output is consistent with a standard server-class supply of this capacity. Systems needing higher continuous power or redundant modules are not supported by this model.

Questions about this item

How do I install this L280P-00 power supply in a Dell GX620 and what step is often missed?

Slide the unit into the chassis until the latch clicks, then connect the main 24-pin and 4-pin CPU cables; the step often missed is securing the retention screw that locks the supply in place.

What maintenance will this H280P-01 unit need later?

Clean dust from the intake grill every few months using compressed air; the internal fan is the only moving part, so if it becomes noisy or stops spinning the entire supply should be replaced.
