The board measures 70 mm by 63 mm by 0.8 mm and carries LED indicators for power and CF access. A voltage selector supports +3.3 V or +5 V cards and a jumper sets master or slave mode.

Suits IDE-only systems, not hot-swap needs

Builders working with legacy desktops, industrial PCs, Linux set-top boxes, routers, firewalls or diskless clients can add solid-state storage without mechanical drives. The adapter accepts Compact Flash Type I, Type II and Micro-drive media and supports Ultra DMA transfer mode. It does not allow hot insertion of the CF card, so the host must be powered down before swapping media. Users who need hot-swap capability should look elsewhere.

40-way and 44-way IDE connectors

A 40-way 2.54 mm standard IDE connector fits 3.5" desktop bays, while a 44-way 2 mm laptop IDE connector is available as an option for smaller form factors.
