Tannoy PCI 7DC RB In-Ceiling Speaker

The Tannoy PCI 7DC RB is a new 7-inch in-ceiling loudspeaker featuring Dual Concentric driver technology. It is designed for wired installation in residential or commercial audio systems. The square white grille blends with standard ceiling tiles. Peak power handling is rated at 320W.

Suited for Distributed Audio Installations

This speaker suits installers building multi-room background music or paging systems where a flush square profile is required. It is not for buyers needing an integrated back-can enclosure, as the supplier notes the back can is not included. It also does not suit portable or outdoor applications lacking a protected ceiling cavity.

Handles 320W Peaks in Ceiling Cavities

The 320W peak rating provides headroom for dynamic programme material in typical ceiling voids. The 16.1-inch height and 9.6-inch depth determine the minimum plenum space needed for installation. Without a supplied back can, low-frequency extension and rear radiation control depend entirely on the cavity volume and any separately sourced enclosure.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power rating is needed to drive the 320 W peak speaker safely?

Choose an amplifier rated for up to 320 W peak per channel at the speaker's nominal impedance to match the PCI 7DC RB's peak handling.

Will the 16 in square grille fit the same cut-out as my old 16.1 in high round speaker?

No — the PCI 7DC RB requires a 16 in square opening, while the older unit needs a 16.1 in diameter round hole.

How can I verify the Dual Concentric driver is wired in phase after installation?

Play a mono test tone; a centred, stable image from the ceiling indicates the 7" dual-concentric cones are moving together in phase.
