Tapecase 133-Black Splicing Tape

This splicing tape comes in a black polyethylene film backing with a rubber adhesive. It measures 1 7/8 in wide by 60 yd long and has a thickness of 7.5 mil. The roll suits general splicing tasks where a flexible, opaque tape is required.

Temperature range 30 to 160 Degrees F

The adhesive performs reliably between 30 and 160 Degrees F. Outside this window the bond may weaken or the backing could degrade. Users working in sustained cold below 30 Degrees F or heat above 160 Degrees F should select a tape rated for those extremes.

7.5 mil thickness decides suitability

At 7.5 mil the tape balances conformability and tear resistance for typical splicing jobs. Applications that demand a thinner profile for tight wraps or a heavier gauge for high-stress joints will need a different specification.

Questions about this item

Which width and length combination should I pick for this splicing tape?

This roll is supplied as a single 1 7/8 in wide by 60 yd long option, so there are no alternative sizes to choose from.

How does the 7.5 mil thickness perform when the tape is applied in a machine?

At 7.5 mil the polyethylene film backing with rubber adhesive gives a strong, consistent splice that holds through tension and flex in normal operation.

What does the 30 to 160 °F temperature range cap in real use?

The tape maintains adhesion and backing integrity from 30 °F up to 160 °F, so it suits indoor and moderate outdoor splicing jobs within that window.
