  • Six-foot reach lets you position equipment without moving the outlet
  • 12 AWG conductors carry up to 20 amps for heavy-duty loads
  • Converts a NEMA 6-20P plug to 6-15R, 6-20R, 5-20R or 5-15R receptacles
  • Rated for 250 V at 20 A and 125 V at 20 A for versatile voltage use
  • SJTW jacket resists oil, water and abrasion in demanding environments

TAURKENAM 6 ft 12AWG NEMA 6-20P extension cord

This 1.83 metre, 12AWG SJTW cord extends a NEMA 6-20P 250V 20A supply. It carries a double T-blade female receptacle accepting both NEMA 6-15R and 6-20R plugs. The heavy-duty black cable suits indoor or outdoor equipment needing a longer reach from a 20A locking-style outlet.

Suits 20A 250V loads; not for voltage conversion

Builders connecting 250V 20A tools, EV chargers or PDUs to an existing 6-20R wall outlet will find the correct pin layout and ampacity here. Buyers needing to step voltage up or down must use a transformer; this cord only extends the existing supply. Devices limited to 125V 15A 5-15R plugs cannot be powered safely from the 6-20P source.

12AWG SJTW cable rated 20A 250V

The 12-gauge conductors and SJTW jacket deliver the full 20A at 250V over the 6 ft length without derating. This wire gauge is the single specification that ensures the cord handles continuous 20A loads without overheating, making it suitable for high-draw 250V equipment.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy any extra cables or connectors?

The package contains the 6 ft 12AWG SJTW extension cord with a NEMA 6-20P plug and the selected receptacle variant — either 6-20R, 6-15R, 5-20R or 5-15R. No additional cables or connectors are required for the chosen configuration.

Which receptacle variant should I choose — 6-20R, 6-15R, 5-20R or 5-15R?

Match the receptacle to your device plug: 6-20R for 250 V 20 A equipment, 6-15R for 250 V 15 A gear, 5-20R for 125 V 20 A loads, or 5-15R for standard 125 V 15 A household plugs. The cord itself does not change voltage.

What does the 20 A 250 V rating mean when I plug this into a real outlet?

The cord handles up to 20 A at 250 V when used with the 6-20R or 6-15R ends, and up to 20 A at 125 V with the 5-20R end; the 5-15R version is limited to 15 A at 125 V. It only adapts the outlet shape, not the supply voltage.
