Each cable carries a 500 W rating on standard 18 AWG conductors insulated to UL1007. They are intended for desktop builders who need extra reach between the PSU and the CPU power header.

Build and connectors

The black jacketed wires terminate in a keyed 8-pin female plug on the supply side and an 8(4+4) split male plug on the board side. The split design lets the same cable serve motherboards with either an 8-pin or a 4-pin CPU power header. Straight moulded housings keep the pin alignment firm during installation and removal.

Limits of the EPS extension
