Industrial NEMA 5-15R Connector

This UL-listed straight-blade cord connector is rated for 15 amps at 125 volts and 60 hertz. The polycarbonate thermoplastic housing resists hard impacts and heavy force in demanding environments. It provides a 2-pole, 3-wire grounding connection for standard North American power cords. DIY installers will find the wiring terminals straightforward to terminate.

Wiring Integration

The connector accepts a matching NEMA 5-15P plug to complete a power extension or equipment cord. Its industrial-grade construction suits workshops, job sites or rack installations where cords face frequent abuse. No special tools are required beyond basic wire strippers and a screwdriver for the terminal screws. The device rating and NEMA configuration are clearly marked on the body for quick identification.

No Accessories Included

The package contains only the female cord connector itself; no cord, strain-relief clamp or wiring hardware is supplied. Installers must source appropriate cable and termination supplies separately. The one-year manufacturer warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Software or configuration utilities are not applicable to this passive electrical component.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum continuous current the NEMA 5-15R connector is rated to carry?

The connector is rated for 15 amps at 125 volts, which is the continuous current limit defined by its NEMA 5-15R configuration.

How much heat does the polycarbonate body generate when the cord runs at full load all day?

The industrial-grade polycarbonate thermoplastic housing is designed to withstand hard impacts and heavy force, dissipating heat effectively during sustained 15-amp operation at 60 Hz.

What wire gauge and type must I already have to terminate this 2-pole, 3-wire grounding connector correctly?

You need a three-conductor cable with a grounding wire sized for a 15-amp, 125-volt circuit to match the NEMA 5-15R 2P3W rating.
