  • Gold-plated RJ45 connectors resist corrosion for lasting contact

Ideal for extending a Cat6 run

This 1.5 ft shielded Cat6 patch cable extends an existing Ethernet link to a router, streaming box or PoE device without replacing the installed run. Gold-plated RJ45 contacts and foil-plus-braid shielding protect signal integrity up to 550 MHz bandwidth. The male-to-female layout also saves the computer or switch port from repeated plug cycles.

Check connector gender and run length

Verify that the fixed cable you are extending ends in a male RJ45 plug so this female jack can accept it. Confirm the additional 1.5 ft reaches the target device without tension on either connector. The cable is backward compatible with Cat5 and Cat5e installations, but the overall channel must still meet Category 6 limits for 550 MHz performance.

Passive cable thermals and power

As a passive copper assembly the extension adds no active heat or fan noise to the installation. Shielding reduces alien crosstalk in dense cable bundles without drawing power. The stranded conductors stay flexible for routing around corners while maintaining the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 electrical specification.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.5 ft cable ship ready to use or do I need extra connectors?

The cable has a shielded RJ45 male plug on one end and a shielded RJ45 female jack on the other, so it plugs straight into an existing run — no extra parts required.

Why pick the 1.5 ft length over the 3 ft version?

Choose 1.5 ft when the gap between your device and the wall jack or switch is short; it reduces slack and keeps the run tidy while still delivering the same Cat6 performance.

What does the 550 MHz bandwidth mean for my 1 Gbps link?

The 550 MHz rating exceeds the Cat6 TIA/EIA 568-C.2 requirement, giving ample headroom for 1 Gbps Ethernet, PoE devices and high-definition streaming without signal loss.
