Splitter adapter for UPS power distribution

This IEC 320 C14 to dual C21 Y splitter connects a single C14 inlet to two C21 outlets. It is built for UPS and PDU installations where a standard C13 power cord must feed equipment with C20 inlets. The moulded PVC body uses pure copper conductors and is supplied as a single unit in blue.

Current rating mismatch decides fit

The male C14 plug is rated at 10 A, 13 A or 15 A at 125 V while each female C21 connector is rated at 16 A at 250 V or 20 A at 125 V. The adapter is marked for 15 A and 250 V overall. Buyers must ensure the upstream circuit and C14 inlet can supply the combined load without exceeding the lower C14 rating.

Sustained load limited by C14 inlet

Under continuous operation the 10 A to 15 A C14 rating governs the total current available to both C21 branches. The higher 16 A or 20 A C21 ratings only apply to each individual outlet and cannot be summed beyond the C14 limit. Installations that demand more than 15 A combined should use a different power distribution method.
