TeKit USB 3.0 Type A to C Converter

This adapter adds a USB 3.0 Type C female port to a legacy Type A laptop or desktop. It connects USB C cables, hubs or peripherals for data and charging. The reversible Type C connector inserts either way up. It does not carry video signals or work with MagSafe chargers.

Sustained data transfer at USB 3.0 speeds

Under continuous load the link runs at up to 5Gbps, delivering around 500MB/s. Actual throughput depends on the host controller, device firmware, OS version and file type. When connected to a USB 2.0 port the rate falls to 480Mbps, about 40MB/s.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The passive cable assembly has no active cooling and produces no audible noise. Power draw follows the attached device and the host port limits. The 1.8 metre length gives comfortable reach for desk use while charging or syncing.
