What this cable does

This 20 cm splitter takes one set of composite video and stereo audio outputs and duplicates them to two displays or recorders. It suits installers who need to feed a TV and a capture device from a single DVD player, set-top box or legacy console.

Before you connect

Check that your source has three RCA sockets coloured yellow, red and white and that each destination device also accepts the same three-plug composite input. The cable carries standard-definition analogue signals only, so it will not pass HDMI, component or digital audio formats.

Build and daily use

The moulded black plugs are colour-coded to match the yellow-red-white convention, reducing wiring errors during setup. At 20 cm the tail is short enough to sit behind equipment racks without looping, yet long enough to reach side-by-side ports without strain. Nine connectors in total mean every path is a direct pin-to-pin link with no active electronics inside.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 cm splitter come with everything needed to connect a DVD player to a TV, or must I buy extra cables?

The package includes one 3 RCA male to 6 RCA female AV cable; you still need your own male-to-male RCA leads to run from the six female sockets to the TV and source.

The model BX0019-1130X lists a 20 cm length — is that the only option or are longer versions available?

Only the 20 cm version is described for this model; no other lengths are mentioned in the product data.

With nine connectors on a 20 cm lead, how much slack will I actually have behind a typical AV rack?

The 20 cm overall length leaves very little room — expect roughly a hand-span between the source plug and the six female sockets, so plan device placement accordingly.
