TSQ670 70 Volt In-Ceiling Speakers

Theater Solutions TSQ670 speakers are 70 volt in-ceiling units sold as a four-piece pack with 6.5 inch poly mica woofers and pivoting silk titanium dome tweeters. They include built-in transformers with five tap settings from 16 to 8, 4, 2 and 1 watt plus a bypass for standard amplifier connections.

Commercial installs and standard home audio

These speakers suit commercial or retail installations that run 70 volt distributed lines and also work in homes using the transformer bypass with a regular amplifier. Buyers who need wireless streaming or self-powered operation should look at something else because these are passive units requiring external amplification.

Five transformer taps at 16 8 4 2 1 watt

The integrated 70 volt transformer offers five power taps at 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 watt so each speaker can be matched to the line load without extra hardware. This tap selection is the specification that determines whether the system balances correctly across a long cable run.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 70 V tap settings or the transformer bypass for my install?

Use the built‑in 70 V transformer with its 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 watt taps for distributed commercial lines; switch to bypass when driving the speakers directly from a standard amplifier.

What does the 91 dB sensitivity at 8 ohm tell me about real‑world volume?

At one metre, one watt produces 91 dB SPL, so moderate amplifier power yields loud, clear coverage in typical ceiling‑height rooms.

How does the 70 V line interface limit my cable runs and speaker count?

The 70 V system lets you daisy‑chain multiple speakers on thin wire over long distances; each speaker draws only its tapped wattage, so total load stays within amplifier limits.
