Military-grade shock resistance

The Transcend StoreJet 25M3 is a 2TB portable hard drive built around a 2.5" mechanism and a USB 3.0 interface. It is aimed at users who move data between desktops and laptops and want a drive that can survive knocks and drops in a bag or on a worksite.

Three-stage protection and bundled software

A silicone shell, an internal suspension damper and a reinforced hard casing form the advanced three-stage shock protection system that meets U.S. military drop-test standards. The package also includes 256-bit AES file and folder encryption plus Transcend Elite data management software for backup and restore tasks.

Iron Gray rubber case with One-Touch button

The anti-shock rubber outer case measures .80" x 5.10" x 3.24" and weighs .51 lb, providing a slip-resistant grip for daily transport. A One-Touch auto-backup button on the enclosure lets you start a predefined backup job without opening the software. The drive is USB 3.0 compliant and backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.5" drive inside the TS2TSJ25M3 need any periodic maintenance or replacement parts?

The drive is a sealed 2.5" mechanism with no user-serviceable parts; the three-stage shock protection and suspension system are built to last the life of the unit.

What limits sustained write performance on the USB 3.0 interface?

The USB 3.0 connection caps transfer rates at the interface's maximum; the mechanical 2.5" drive and its internal cache determine the real-world sustained throughput.

How much heat and noise does the StoreJet 25M3 produce during all-day operation?

The fanless, rubber-cased design runs silently; the 2.5" drive generates only modest warmth that the silicone shell dissipates without active cooling.
