AC1300 dual-band PoE access point

The TRENDnet TEW-823DAP is a wireless access point built for indoor environments. It delivers concurrent AC and N band coverage through a low-profile housing. Power over Ethernet simplifies placement where mains sockets are unavailable. The unit suits homes or small offices needing reliable Wi-Fi without visible cabling.

867 Mbps AC plus 400 Mbps N concurrent throughput

The radio operates two bands simultaneously at the rated speeds. MU-MIMO handles several client streams at once to reduce contention. Band steering directs capable devices to the faster AC band automatically. This specification determines whether the access point matches the throughput demand of your connected devices.

Wall and ceiling mounting plate included

The bundled plate lets installers fix the unit flush to a ceiling tile or wall surface. No separate bracket purchase is required for standard installations. The low-profile chassis keeps the device unobtrusive once mounted. Builders who need pole or outdoor mounting hardware must source those parts separately.

Questions about this item

What does the AC1300 rating mean for actual throughput on this TEW-823DAP?

The AC1300 figure represents concurrent 867Mbps WiFi AC and 400Mbps WiFi N wireless link rates; actual throughput depends on client capabilities, channel conditions and network overhead.

How does the Gigabit PoE LAN port limit the maximum wired connection speed?

The single Gigabit Ethernet port caps the wired uplink at 1Gbps, so combined wireless traffic from both bands cannot exceed that throughput when passing through the PoE connection.

What mounting hardware is included for the low-profile housing?

A wall and ceiling mounting plate is supplied in the box, allowing the white indoor unit to be fixed flush to either surface without extra brackets.
