A 7-inch 16-pin female to dual 8-pin male extension that connects a PSU 12VHPWR cable to a graphics card
This 16-pin (12+4) female to dual 8-pin (6+2) male extension cable connects a power supply's native 12VHPWR output to a graphics card requiring two PCIe power connectors. It is built for users upgrading to an ATX 3.0 or ATX 3.1 PSU while retaining a current-generation GPU. The 18 cm length provides a short, tidy bridge inside the case.
The cable removes the need for separate 12VHPWR-to-8-pin adapters when a PSU only offers the new 16-pin native output. Each 8-pin end splits into a 6+2 configuration, so it fits both 6-pin and 8-pin GPU sockets without extra parts. The jump is worth it when moving to a PSU such as the Seasonic Focus GX ATX3 series or Corsair HX i-series ATX 3.1 units that ship with a 12VHPWR lead.
The 16 AWG conductors are rated for the power demands of modern GPUs drawing through dual 8-pin connections. PVC sleeving protects the wires during routing. Headroom exists for cards within the PSU's rated output, while the fixed 7-inch length limits placement to PSUs mounted close to the GPU power sockets.

The cable measures 18 cm from the 16-pin female connector to the dual 8-pin male ends, so allow at least that depth behind the GPU plus room for the connectors themselves.
Plug the 16-pin female end onto the PSU's existing 12VHPWR male cable first, then attach the two 8-pin male ends to the GPU; the frequent error is reversing this order.
Slide the extra 2 pins off when the graphics card needs a 6-pin PCIe connector, and slide them back on for an 8-pin socket; inspect the latch tabs each time you reconfigure.
