Provides 550 VA battery backup with 10 outlets, USB shutdown and 420 J surge protection for 120 V systems
The Tripp Lite 550 VA 300 W UPS delivers battery backup and surge protection for desktop computers, networking gear and other electronics. It provides seamless power during brownouts or outages so users can save work and shut down safely without data loss. The unit operates on 120 V 50/60 Hz input and includes ten total outlets.
At half load of 150 W the battery runs for 10 minutes, while full load of 550 VA yields only 3 minutes of backup time. There is no Automatic Voltage Regulation, so the unit does not correct under-voltage or over-voltage conditions without switching to battery. Recharge requires 15 hours after a full discharge.
A USB port and included cable enable communication with the free PowerAlert download for unattended system shutdown during extended outages. Front panel LEDs and an audible alarm give immediate status feedback on line and battery operation. RJ11 jacks add surge protection for a phone or modem line. The design suits users who need basic runtime and monitoring; it is not for buyers who want longer runtime or voltage regulation.

At half load of 150 W the unit provides 10 minutes of battery runtime, giving time to save files and shut down properly.
The front-panel LEDs show line and battery status, while the audible alarm sounds on fault; PowerAlert will display UPS state once the USB cable is connected and the software is running.
The unit includes both battery-supported and suppression-only outlets; the RJ11 port is built in for telephone or modem line surge protection, so no extra cord is required for that function.
