What this UPS delivers

The Tripp Lite AVRT450U is a 450 VA line-interactive uninterruptible power supply rated at 360 watts. It provides battery backup and automatic voltage regulation for desktop PCs, home-theatre equipment or digital-signage players that need protection from blackouts, brownouts and surges.

How it fits a setup

Six NEMA 5-15R outlets accept standard North American plugs; four of those outlets supply both battery backup and surge suppression while the remaining two provide surge-only protection. A USB port enables communication with monitoring software, and the replaceable RBC51 battery can be swapped without tools when it reaches end of life.

Behaviour under sustained load

At half load the internal valve-regulated lead-acid battery runs for 5.7 minutes, giving enough time to save files and shut down gracefully during an extended outage. The unit recharges in under eight hours, and audible alarms signal low-battery, overload, fault or battery-replacement conditions while remaining silent during normal battery operation.

Questions about this item

How long will the 450 VA battery keep my PC running at half load before it shuts down?

At half load the internal VRLA battery provides 5.7 minutes of runtime, enough to save files and shut down an energy-efficient desktop with a small LCD monitor.

Does the AVRT450U run silently or produce audible noise during all-day operation?

The alarm remains silent during battery-mode operation until a low-battery condition occurs, so normal running produces no audible alert.

What cable do I need to connect the USB port on the UPS to my computer for monitoring?

A standard USB cable (not included) plugs into the rear USB interface port to enable power-management software communication.
