100ft Cat5e Patch Cable for Wired Networks

This 100-foot Cat5e molded patch cable provides a wired Ethernet connection between routers, switches, PCs and other network devices. It uses RJ45 male connectors on both ends and is rated for 350MHz bandwidth. The gray jacket suits standard office or home installations.

Not for PoE+ or 10GbE Runs

The cable meets Cat5e 350MHz specifications, so it supports Gigabit Ethernet but does not carry the higher frequencies required for 10 Gigabit Ethernet or the power levels of PoE+ applications. Buyers needing 10GBASE-T distances or PoE+ power budgets should select a Cat6a or higher rated cable instead.

Questions about this item

What does the 350 MHz rating mean when the cable is installed in a real network?

The 350 MHz bandwidth supports Cat5e performance up to 100 meters, allowing reliable 1 Gigabit Ethernet transmission across the full 100 ft length.

How does the RJ45 interface limit what this cable can carry in practice?

The RJ45 connectors cap the link at Cat5e speeds, so the cable delivers up to 1 Gbps Ethernet and cannot support 10 Gbps or higher standards.
