A 550VA standby UPS with 300W output, eight outlets and USB monitoring that provides 3.5 minutes of battery runtime at full load
VA 550 VA
The Tripp Lite ECO550UPS is a 550 VA standby UPS that supplies 300 watts of battery-backed power to keep a desktop PC, monitor and one essential peripheral running during a blackout. It delivers 120 V AC from the mains and 115 V AC on battery, with 99 percent line-mode efficiency that keeps its own draw below three watts. Four outlets provide battery backup and surge protection while four additional outlets supply surge-only protection for accessories.
Home-office users with a single computer and modest peripherals will find the runtime adequate for saving work and shutting down cleanly. The unit is not suited for systems that draw more than 300 watts or for anyone needing more than 10 minutes of half-load operation. Builders running multi-GPU workstations, servers or networking gear that requires continuous uptime should look at higher-capacity units.
At the maximum rated 300 watt load the battery lasts only 3.5 minutes, which is enough to close files and initiate an orderly shutdown but not to continue working. At 150 watts the runtime extends to 10 minutes. This single figure determines whether the UPS matches the power profile of your equipment.

Other versions of this model
The unit sounds audible alarms for ON BATTERY, LOW BATTERY and OVERLOAD conditions. Connect the USB cable and use the Tripp Lite software to verify line-mode efficiency near 99% and monitor battery status.
The package includes the UPS with NEMA 5-15P input plug, eight NEMA 5-15R outlets (four battery-backed, four surge-only with three ECO outlets), a USB cable and a TEL/DSL protection line. No extra cables are required for basic operation.
Plug the computer and monitor into the four battery-supported outlets so they stay on during a blackout. Use the three ECO surge-only outlets for the printer and speakers; they power off automatically when the PC enters standby.
