Compact standby UPS for desktop systems

The Tripp Lite ECO850LCD is an 850 VA, 425 W standby UPS designed for home and office computers. It provides battery backup and surge protection for workstations, networking gear and peripherals. The unit mounts on a wall or sits on a desk and includes an LCD for status and control.

425 watt capacity with measured runtime

The UPS supports loads up to 425 watts and delivers 13.4 minutes of runtime at a 210 watt half load. At full rated power the available runtime will be shorter, so plan for graceful shutdown rather than extended operation. The ECO feature can cut power to four outlets when the main computer is off, reducing standby consumption.

Twelve NEMA 5-15R outlets and data protection

Twelve outlets are provided, with four controlled by the ECO setting and the remainder always on. A right-angled NEMA 5-15P plug connects to a standard 120 V wall receptacle. USB HID and a single RJ11 pass-through protect telephone or DSL lines, while the 420 joule surge rating guards connected equipment.

Questions about this item

Will the ECO850LCD run my older 120 V desktop and monitor through its twelve NEMA 5-15R outlets during an outage?

Yes, the 850 VA / 425 W unit supplies 115 V / 120 V at 60 Hz from all twelve 5-15R outlets, giving about 13.4 minutes at a 210 W half load.

How do I confirm the UPS is operating correctly once I plug it in?

The built-in LCD status and control display shows real-time voltage, load level and battery condition, while an audible alarm sounds on power failure or overload.

Does the box include everything needed for USB monitoring and phone-line surge protection, or must I buy extra cables?

The package provides the UPS with its attached right-angled 5-15P input cord, a USB HID port for PowerAlert software, and one in/out RJ11 jack for TEL/DSL protection; no separate cables are required for those functions.
