Compact standby UPS for USB-monitored PCs

The Tripp Lite INTERNET600U is a 600 VA / 300 W mini-desktop UPS designed for PCs and network workstations that rely on a USB link for unattended shutdown. It accepts 110 V AC input and delivers 120 V AC output, switching to battery when voltage drops to 99 V. Eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles provide both battery-backup and surge-only connections.

USB port and PowerAlert software enable automatic

A supplied USB cable connects the UPS to the host so the free PowerAlert download can monitor status and trigger orderly shutdown during extended outages. TEL/DSL surge suppression protects modem or router lines. LED indicators show power and fault conditions without requiring the software to be running.

Standby topology limits transfer time and runtime

The standby design passes utility power directly until a blackout or brownout occurs, so there is a brief transfer interval before battery takes over. At full 300 W load the battery lasts 3 minutes; at half load it extends to 10 minutes. Recharging to full capacity requires 4 hours, so closely spaced outages will find reduced reserve.

Questions about this item

How often will the internal battery need replacement?

The sealed lead-acid battery typically lasts three to five years; when runtime drops below the rated 3 minutes at full load or 10 minutes at half load it should be swapped.

What limits continuous operation at full 300 W load?

Runtime is the limiting factor — the unit supplies 300 W for only 3 minutes before the battery is depleted.

How much heat and noise does it produce when running all day?

In normal standby the unit is silent and emits minimal heat; during battery operation a small internal fan runs and the case warms slightly.
