run patch cable for tight installs

This two-foot Cat 5e cable links a computer, switch, router or wall jack with standard RJ-45 plugs on both ends. The stranded UTP construction stays flexible for routing behind desks or inside cabinets. Molded strain relief protects the connectors from repeated plugging and unplugging. Black jacket makes it easy to identify in a crowded rack.

Replaces longer cables that leave excess slack

Use it when a one-foot jumper is too short and a three-foot run creates clutter. The 2 ft length suits patch-panel-to-switch links, laptop-to-dock connections or temporary test leads. Builders who need runs over 3 ft should choose a longer cable; installers who need shielded or Cat 6 performance need a different specification.

Questions about this item

What length is the Tripp Lite N002-002-BK cable and will it reach between rack-mounted equipment?

The cable is 2 ft long, so it suits short links such as a patch panel to a switch within the same rack; measure your exact run before ordering.

How do I connect the RJ-45 plugs without damaging the latch tabs?

Align each RJ-45 plug with the port, push straight in until the latch clicks, and release the tab before pulling to avoid snapping the molded latch.
