The 24 AWG stranded UTP construction carries 1000Base-T, 100Base-TX, 155 Mbps ATM and voice signals without error. Headroom exists for current Gigabit Ethernet, but the cable cannot support 10 Gbps or higher speeds that require Cat6a or better.

Male RJ45 connectors on both ends

Every termination uses a standard eight-position plug compatible with any RJ45 jack. No crossover wiring is present, so the cable will not directly link two similar NICs without a switch or router in between.
