Short patch cable for tight runs

The Tripp Lite N201-002-WH is a two-foot Cat 6 patch cable with RJ45 connectors on both ends. It suits installers and home users who need a short white link between a switch, router or wall jack and a nearby device. The snagless moulded boots protect the locking tabs during repeated insertion and removal.

Cat 6 bandwidth and distance ceiling

Category 6 cabling supports gigabit speeds up to one hundred metres, but this cable is only two feet long. It cannot span rooms or racks on its own; it is intended for patch-panel cross-connects, desk-side drops or stacking equipment inside a single cabinet. Longer runs require a different length.

Two-foot length decides fit

The fixed 2 ft length is the single specification that determines whether this cable reaches your ports. Measure the exact path between your two RJ45 sockets before ordering; if the gap is wider, this part will fall short and a longer cable is necessary.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2 ft white Cat 6 cable or a different length for my setup?

The 2 ft white Cat 6 cable suits short runs between a patch panel and a switch or a desktop and a wall jack; pick a longer version only if the devices sit farther apart.

What does the Cat 6 rating deliver once the cable is installed?

Cat 6 supports gigabit Ethernet speeds over the full 2 ft length with reduced crosstalk compared with Cat 5e, so the link runs at the rated throughput without errors.

How does the RJ45 interface limit performance in practice?

The RJ45 connectors on each end are wired to the Cat 6 pinout, so the cable caps at the category’s specified bandwidth and cannot exceed the gigabit rate the standard defines.
