10ft NEMA 5-15 Extension Cord

This 10ft power extension cord connects a NEMA 5-15P plug to a NEMA 5-15R receptacle. It is designed for desktop computers, monitors or peripherals that need extra reach from a wall outlet or power strip. The cord is rated for 13A at 120V using 16 AWG conductors.

Continuous 13A 120V Load Handling

The 16 AWG wiring supports a continuous 13 amp draw at 120 volts without overheating. Voltage drop over the 10ft length stays within typical limits for standard office equipment. The moulded connectors maintain a secure fit during extended operation.

Check Outlet Type and Device Rating

Verify that your power source provides a NEMA 5-15R outlet and that your equipment uses a NEMA 5-15P plug. Confirm the connected device does not exceed 13A at 120V. This cord is not suitable for 20A circuits or higher-voltage applications.

Questions about this item

Does the 16 AWG wire run warm when the cord carries 13 A all day?

The cord is rated for 13 A at 120 V; 16 AWG conductors are sized for that continuous load without overheating.

What plug must the wall outlet and the device already have for this cord to connect them?

Both ends use NEMA 5-15 — the standard three-prong 15 A plug and matching receptacle found on most North American outlets and PC power supplies.

Will the 10 ft length reach a tower that sits farther from the wall than the original cable allows?

Yes, the 10 ft extension adds reach between an existing 5-15P plug and a 5-15R inlet, so older equipment with short cords can be positioned further away.
