Heavy-Duty Power Extension

This heavy-duty power extension cord adds three feet to an existing computer or peripheral cable. It uses 14AWG conductors rated for 15 amps at 120 volts and carries UL listing. The black SJT jacket resists wear in office or rack environments.

Builders Needing Reach vs. Fixed Installations

The cord suits anyone who must bridge a short gap between a wall outlet, surge suppressor or PDU and a device with a bulky adapter. It is not intended for permanent in-wall wiring, outdoor exposure or circuits that demand a higher ampacity than 15 amps.

NEMA 5-15P to NEMA 5-15R Connectors

The male 5-15P plug inserts into a standard North American receptacle while the female 5-15R end accepts the equipment cord. This straight-through pinout preserves polarity and ground without adapters or rewiring.

Questions about this item

Does the 3 ft cord with NEMA 5-15P and NEMA 5-15R connectors fit a standard North American wall outlet and equipment plug?

Yes — both ends are NEMA 5-15 rated for 120 V, 15 A, so the male plug fits a standard US wall outlet and the female receptacle accepts a standard equipment plug.

What is the correct way to connect the cord so the 14 AWG, 15 A rating is maintained?

Plug the NEMA 5-15P male end into the wall outlet or surge suppressor first, then insert the device plug into the NEMA 5-15R female end; reversing the order does not change the rating but the male end must always be the supply side.

When should the 3 ft, 14 AWG extension cord be replaced?

Replace it if the jacket shows cracks, the blades or slots are bent or discoloured, or the cord becomes warm during normal 15 A use — any of those indicate the 14 AWG conductors or insulation are degraded.
