12 ft HDMI Cable for 4K Devices

The Tripp Lite P568-012 is a 12 ft high-speed HDMI cable designed to connect Ultra HD sources such as computers, Blu-ray players, game systems and monitors to compatible displays. It carries both digital video and audio through male-to-male gold connectors. The black cable supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 18 Gbps bandwidth.

Upgrade From Older HDMI Cables

This cable replaces standard HDMI leads that cannot handle 18 Gbps throughput or 4K resolution. The jump is worth it when your source and display both support 3840 x 2160 and you need the full 12 ft reach without signal degradation. It also maintains compatibility with 1080p equipment.

Simple Plug-and-Play Installation

Installation requires only connecting each HDMI male end to the corresponding ports on your devices; no drivers or configuration are needed. The most common issue is attempting to run 4K at 18 Gbps through ports or devices limited to lower bandwidth, which results in no picture or a fallback to 1080p. Ensure both ends support the required specification.

Questions about this item

What length and connector type does the Tripp Lite P568-012 cable use to fit between devices?

The cable is 12 ft long with an HDMI male connector on each end, so it reaches between two HDMI ports without adapters.

How is the cable installed, and what common mistake should be avoided?

Plug each HDMI male end firmly into the HDMI ports on both devices until seated; the mistake is forcing a connector upside-down, which can bend pins.

Will the gold-plated connectors need cleaning or replacement over time?

Gold resists corrosion, so the connectors rarely need cleaning; if signal issues appear, reseat both ends before considering a new cable.
