35 ft HDMI cable for 1080p displays

The Tripp Lite P568-035 is a 35 ft High Speed HDMI cable built for 1080p video and digital audio. Male-to-male gold-plated connectors and double shielding protect signal quality across the full length. It connects any HDMI source to any HDMI display without extra adapters. Installers running cables through walls or ceilings get a single cable that covers the distance.

Upgrading from shorter or unshielded HDMI leads

A 35 ft reach replaces daisy-chained shorter cables that can introduce handshake failures or signal loss at 1080p. The 18 Gbps bandwidth supports full 1080p resolution so the jump is worth it when the display sits far from the source and you need a reliable single run. It is not for runs that exceed 35 ft or installations that demand 4K or higher resolutions.

Practical limits of the 18 Gbps High Speed HDMI

At 18 Gbps the cable carries 1080p video and audio but does not support 4K, HDR or higher refresh rates that require more bandwidth. Gold-plated contacts and double shielding reduce attenuation yet the 35 ft length is near the practical maximum for passive copper at this data rate. Longer distances or higher formats would need active optical or fibre solutions.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 35 ft cable need behind the display or source?

The 35 ft length requires enough slack to avoid sharp bends; allow a gentle curve radius behind each device so the double-shielded jacket is not kinked.

Which way round do the gold-plated male connectors go, and what mistake do installers make?

Both ends are identical HDMI male plugs; the common error is forcing a connector upside down — align the wider edge with the port before pushing.

When should the cable be replaced if the 18 Gbps signal degrades?

Replace it if 1080p video shows sparkles, dropouts or audio cuts after ruling out source and display; the gold plating resists corrosion but physical damage ends its useful life.
